  • It's beginning to look a lot like . . .

    Christmas!!

There is still snow on the ground from our winter storm that began with rain on Wednesday, turning to freezing rain and finally snow on late Thursday.  The girls had two, count them, 2 snow days!!   NO SCHOOL!!  HOORAY!!  It was wonderful having them home and doing what ever we wanted.  We were able to finally build a snowperson on Friday -- the snow was finally sticky enough.

    It's actually been dubbed a snow-hobbit.  DSC03996-1

DSC04003-1Our dog LOVED the snow.  Where ever I take her, kids whisper "that's a snow dog", you know like the movie.  Well she really proved it!!

DSC04007-1Can you see the snow she's kicking up?

We've also put up our tree and lovingly placed all the ornaments on.  Talked about the when's, why's and where from's for each ornament.  Each one is their favorite, at least until they open up the next one.

DSC04042-1When returning home after a Christmas concert that Stormy performed in (one song as a soloist with 4 other girls), we walked into our home, saw the lit Christmas tree and heard Lovebug squeal with glee "WOW!!  That's so cool".  Her glee made it all worth while!!

We've caroled. Served refreshments all weekend. Made ornaments for the Christmas tree at church.  Hanged the greens at church.  Adopted a family to purchase Santa gifts for.

There is still much to do, but I am officially in the holiday spirit.  It has begun.  Woo Hoo!!

  • You're an inspiration! I'm not feeling it yet.

  • I think the kids' reactions makes it all worthwhile.  I love holiday traditions more now that my kids are old enough to really enjoy it.

  • Hi Snow Hobbit!

I am trying to get in the mood, but mostly I'm just moody. :(

  • that snowman is too cute- and I just bet your dog is in heaven> I think putting up the tree and reminscing must be one of the best parts about Christmas.

  • I remember snow days. We would sit in front of the radio waiting for them to call our school. They rarely did, but when we did, it was the best day ever.  Now a days, if I know its going to snow I just have to get up earlier to battle the commute to work.  No more snow days.  No fun!!

Your dog is beautiful but don't tell our dog I said that. She get's really jellous.

  • Yay for holiday spirit! Gorgeous pup and a beautiful tree!
